“Love at first burger”

-Peter Dresslar

The earliest available record is an 1888 Historic Sanborn Fire Insurance Map where the subject property is developed with one small building structure near the western property boundary which remains at the property until at least 1972.

The eastern building (restaurant building) first appears in the 1916 Historic Sanborn Fire Insurance Map. City directory listings and other standard historical record sources identify previous property occupants as Wahl’s Clothes Cleaners in the small western structure from at least 1925 through 1931.

Cadogan Tailor and a residence (1983), S. Main Restaurant, Debut Hair Studio (1987 through at least 2002), Robert’s Poco Café (1989), Prickly Pear Restaurant (at least 1991 through present), Mr. Leonard’s Beauty (1992 through 1997), Salon Vertigo (2002) and Second Heaven Salon (2007).

A glimpse of today.

As is typical of historic buildings, what they are today is an evolution of what they once were. This is snapshot of the property as of February 2020 when it was last a restaurant.
